doesn't look like they are nice to young drivers either.
i've just got about 6 quotes, ranging from 1200 to 2000 but then allianz gives me a premium of $3,183.89 Annually. BlackVr6ix can you check it? PM sent
Allianz is great with euro cars, but they aren't big fans of mods.
If you PM me your basic details
name
dob
address
claims history
Mods/accessories etc
I can get a quote in my system (but cant really put it though) which will give you an idea of how much you SHOULD be paying.

Ouch, I'm glad I'm not being gouged by those sort of prices anymore.

Shannons.
You Crazy Cats.
The 94A is the year they created the listing on the RTA computer.
I often see a 1998 Golf with 95A on the papers.
I made the RTA create a rocco listing this year, so the Scirocco is an 07A even thought its a 1986

Very interesting on the insurance side of things...
Shannons:
$1155.80 @ $8,800 or ~ $96/Month
$1213.59 @ $10,000 or ~ $101/month
Just had a closer look at Allianz, for "Market Value" the price is $999 if I put myself at the only driver and $910 if I nominate my wife (who is 1 MONTH older). They don't seem to have an option for agreed value that I can see and they don't list the actual market value, although everywhere I have gone seems to be round the $8,800 mark.
They also have a question:
" Has your vehicle been modified in any of the following ways: engine, body/paint, suspension or wheels?*
So my VW genuine 16"s count as a mod... would have to ring them up to confirm since if you answer yes, it wont quote you. The really crazy part is I can add an accessory under "Other accessories" for $2,000 worth of Alloy Wheels and it doesn't bat an eyelid.
So Allianz = comes out to ~ $85 month including the wheels and windscreen cover.
I wonder what Shannons considers to be a modified car, saying yes in that box make it $1405 or ~$117/month which is where I am with NRMA.
Considering my car has:
Different leather seats, 16" VW alloys, fog lamps, pod filter and soon to be lowered suspension.
Is that really classified as modified? Suppose I will have to ring up and ask. Because if Allianz will cover it as is... well it will be hard to pass them up.

i can get my premium down to 835 if i make my make my excess up to $3250! (thats $2000 basic, $750 for under 21 male driver and $500 for inexperienced driver)
and that is to cover the car (MV=$6250) with no accessories except aftermarket alarm.
Shannons is $825.93 total cost for both the Scirocco and the 16v Mk1. They are aware of all mods and both have an agreed value of 10k each.
Once you have more than one car with them, it gets cheaper.
The 16v Toledo is insured for $8k agreed value and its $542.27 for me and the Mrs, fully Comp, $400 excess. we are both over 30 and have had lots of points between us.
I think they are a great company to deal with on the phone, they listen to what you want will price match and are eager to help you.
Compare that to the NRMA and the succession of recorded messages you get and it wasnt a hard choice for me.
