Really? Where does all the fuel go. I ran out the other day and after the tow, paid $49 for a full tank at about $1.20 a litre so that's prob only about 40 llitres, what's the go? never heard of this before....
    cheers

once it clicks, remove the nozzle count to 10 and put nozzle back in and keep pumping.

Just to revive an old thread, Today my fuel gauge started playing up a bit. It never gets to the full mark anymore, so I need peoples advice.

Should I assume that the gauge just has a different range now and I can drive it closer to empty because empty is now 1/4 left, or should I assume that empty still means empty?

Also does this mean it is near death, or just middle age?

    Ben.

disconnect the battery terminals and touch them together (not while battery is connected duh) and count to 10. reconnect and see if it gets fixed. i know with my car the gauge will read lower than it is but mysteriously jump back up to the correct level later on

just want to reharsh an old thread

i just filled up then (i usually do $80) after almost getting 500 to the tank (480km) and went home.

when i got home, i looked at the fuel gauge and it was showing the level when i filled up. thought something was screwy so i went back to the station to refill. $3 later and i knew my gauge was screwy. Went over some bumps to see if i could "shake" it back into submission (no go).

anyone got a fix? hopefully tomorrow itll be ok. i usually fill every 420-450 anyhoo but for anyone else driving my car they may get a but anxious.

    cheers

EDIT: started up this morn and the tank shows a little bit more, though not full. bloody.
