    MK4 seats in MK3

    Hey guys

Just wondering if anybody here has installed MK4 seats into a MK3 chassis? I know it can be done as I've seen some threads on vortex but a few people there say that it requires a lot of custom fabrication.

Wanted to see if anyone has done one here locally and if so what the steps are to getting it done?

bima/anthony_t's VR6 had it done (cant remember who organised it)
needs new rails welded to the car, or seat modified.

Yeah Bima mentioned that to me. Any idea where that VR6 went dyl?

Was hoping to speak to someone who currently owns a MK3 with MK4 seats so I could see it for myself

My old VR6 is now in Perth apparently its been given a new lease on life with a rebuild and fresh chains

Regarding the seats the main anchor needs to be cut out and swapped with a mk4 one and the wheels on the seat need to be trimmed so they can run up and down

Then there is the issue of the seat not getting down as low as the mk3 seats do..... DubSteve got around this by notching the seat but i never bothered with mine

Its also possible to get the rear seats full functional with a little bit of chopping and welding

There maybe other ways that it can be done

If i cant find a set of actual mk3 recaro seats or a set of leathers from a colour concept i will end up doing going down this path again but will notch the seat to get it to lay low

Interesting, just sold a mk3 part to someone in WA, I doubt related though.
