Ive been caught out by this in the past...It was really annoying at the time!
I sussed it by getting the mk4 loom socket (rubber push-on) ones.

You then just change the mk3 bayonet plug to mk4.

I did get them new at mates rates (they come with the socket, two 10cm wires attached 2x) but if you have a wreckers close - check VW's with that oval indicator - mk4's, B5 Passats and Polos etc

should i be trying to get my money back?

The ebay ones fit, I've bought 2 sets and the only thing I've had to do is put a touch of silicone on the back of them to keep the condensation out.

TMTuning gets theirs from chinese makers, same with alot of their products like their pedals and their better selling headlights/tailights

Good luck trying to returning them, they'll make you pay the postage to and back and only then will they refund you just for the amount you have paid for the item

They've got a nice website, but average products, abysmal customer service and even worse prices...

    thats terrible news!
well im going to send them an email now and see what they have to say.

either that or yeah i go to a wreckers and look for two mk4 plugs and sockets. god! as if i can be bothered doing that.
i HATE spending money on something and still having to do work/spend more money so get it to work!

lets see what they have to say first

be thankful the issue is only with a set of cheap indicators. I think we have all had issues like this in the past. Its all part of the joy of bringing stuff in from overseas. Never know whats gonna show up on your doorstep until it gets there!

haha so true, its like a present from a Secret Santa you make hints as to what you want, but you have no idea if you'll actually like what you get!

At this stage im not threatening anything at all, just letting them know about the situation and asking what can be done about it
if they say send it back the ill make sure they'll be covering my shipping charges.
if they say too bad, then threats will be made

its infuriating and exciting at the same time!

I'm assuming that Branko's ranting is right, unfortunately lol...
that's why I said threaten loss of VWW customers, and then put it up here in the general section!

If it comes to the mk4 retro-fit, it'd be easy as. I don't think it matters what wire is connected to what because they don't have different polarities, or something like that. I just soldered new indicator plugs into my front ones so I could run a shaved bumper. Piece of cake

I wouldnt go threatening anyone over such a small issue. Just bring the error to their attention and see what they can do to help.
