If you're talking about replacing the badge on the rear of your car underneath the wiper, then it's stuck on so you'll need to file off the clips of the new badge first
Hi guys,
has anyone done a swap with their OEM tailgate badge for the newer Silver on blue badge from the MK4 engine cover?
I've found a place on ebay that has the engine cover badge, but i dunno if its a straight fit. How is the rear badge fixed to the car? Is it stuck on or with clips?
The new blue badge uses 3 clips and is roughly 79mm in diameter. Here's the link to the item:

The guys store on ebay has loads of MK3 stuff and shipping is pretty reasonable too.
Any help would be appreciated. If this doesn't work, its a black badge for me.
Cheers
J

Cool, thanks for that. I'm guessing its the OEM badges you have right? No blue ones? hehe
As long as the panel behind the standard badge is flat, it will be easy to file the clips off and stick on the blue badge.
Has anyone tried it and more importantly how does it look?

i saw this on ebay the other day and considered swaping it for the VW badge on the back lol!

Lachie, I wanted an autobot sticker on my car when I realised the only people that had transformer stickers were male asian teenagers(no offence to asians, it was just an observation I made), and often quite geeky ones at that.
So unless you want to be constantly mistaken for a nerdy asian teenager then may I suggest otherwise.
I've seen that blue badge on a bright colour concept blue VR6 online and it looked fantastic, so its effectiveness really depends on the colour of the car its on.
