MK3's shocks, allign and exhaust

Evening All,

Over the past two days I have,
1. Deleted the suitcase muffler on my car
2. Had a wheel allignment
3. Installed new front shocks (sachs)

My questions are, do 2.0's generally crackle and pop a little on the over-run after this mod? It sounds kinda cool but i'm not sure what causes it?

Do mk3's generally pull left? If you take your hands from the wheel does the car favour one side over the other?

Also after installation of my shocks i've decided to offer this advice, do not fit eibach lowered springs and standard shocks, oh dont fit 17's to your mk3 either.

Getting my car ready for the SEQ cruise, hope my clutch lasts through to Sunday Arvo!

Yeh ive got eibach shocks with sachs on the rears and stockies on the front. Ride is far from perfect but i can live with it for the time being.

How does the -ve suitcase sound? Loud im guessing? Not sure about the crackling sound its not a heatshield buzz noise is it?

Not really that loud, it's not the heat shield making the noice, kinda like an old sports car i guess, you give it a squirt then when u come off the gas..pop pop crackle..

They do pull to the left a bit too. Not too much, but a bit.

yeah mine started pulling to left after suspension upgrade, also had a few bangs after exhaust mod, sounded like a back-fire almost??

Mine started pulling to the left slightly after lowering - this was about a few weeks after getting the alignment done. I think I was "testing" the suspension a bit too hard Anyway, I gotta get it aligned again. I'm sure it's not a good thing if it's pulling to one side.

Mine yanks to the left... rather annoying!
Its not nasty though, but i could take me hands off my old ride and it would keep going straight. I miss that.

One day I too will fiddle with my suspension. Got KYB excel G shox + stock springs in the front and stock everything rear. Not my mod, last owner did it. Rides like ****!

i was going to say the same thing my mk2 golf used to do that after i did the exhaust, then i got the ****s and put the cat back in and this made it a bit better

I see, any lasting mechanical problems associated with a lack of back pressure.?
