Hey everyone,
I'm planning over the long weekend to do the Joey mod and I only want to open the headlights up once. Whilst I'm at it I want to do my main beams in yellow. Am I able to spray the inside of the reflective part in a translucent yellow to get the look of the french beams? It will still be reflective. If not, what kind of suggestions do you guys have on achieving this look?
Thanks!
Picture below is for reference
Looked into this before. Most people use either yellow bulbs/bulb covers. That's what the 2nd and 3rd photo is. You can also use tint film or paint though. Tamiya has a clear yellow paint I think.
Blue car looks like a yellow bulb, can still see chrome around the lower part.
Yeah, I'm not sure if you're able to use tamiya paint on the pre-existing chrome as it may not stick. But I'll have to try and see if it sticks on another surface. I'm tempted to try yellow highbeams but I don't know how well it would work because I know the bulb covers would look much better. If it fails I'll do tamiya paint whilst in the process of doing the joey mod.
Thanks for the help guys
Just quietly, I picked up these bad boys too!
And I'm like..
The Tamiya paint goes on the inside of the glass, not the chrome reflective surface.
You do realise this makes your car unroadworthy, don't you?
That will also make you uninsured
