Pray its not the heater core. Check ur water level and cross those fingers.
hi,
on monday morning when i got into the car i found a massive puddle of water in the foot well behind the passenger seat, the first thing i checked was the window and it was closed. i finally got to have a look at the door today and found there are small holes in the rubber seal, but they seem to appear on every door.
i was parked on the gutter, with 2 wheels on the grass and 2 wheels on the road and i'm thinking that maybe the door wasn't shut properly, but don't know. where else could it leak from? and what are the little wholes for? hope that makes sense
cheers

The heater core isn't that bad of a problem. Bypassing it is easy and living in Australia it's doesn't get all that cold...
Mind you I had mine fixed... at the start of summer so I'm waiting for it to be worthwhile... soon!
If anything, head down to the local car wash (or do it at home if you dare!). Take a friend and sit inside the car while your mate washes your car so you can watch for leaks. You get a clean car AND you get to find the leak (or convince yourself it was an open door/window you missed).
If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you. | Refer a Friend - AussieBroadband $50 Credit
Would the water from a busted heater core make it all the way to the rear passenger side foot well? Seems a long trip

Do you air conditioning and if so have you been using it a lot lately? If so it could be the drain from the back of the air conditioning evaporator. You can see it from under the bonnet. Look at the firewall down low on the passenger side. It is a black rubber outlet with a flap on it. Try sticking your finger or a bit of wire in there. Mine was all gunked up even though I use the air con all the time.
After some gunky algae mossy looking stuff came out followed by water all was well. And yes the water can easily end up in the rear footwell.

o no welcome to the world of a mk2! ok this can mean many things, your vapour barriers on the doors leak, could be the front one as water runs very easily to the back!, could be from the firewall and again running to the back so get on your knees and check for moisture everywhere!
Funny Guys
I got the same problem with my vento, the passenger side floor and behind the passenger is full of water. I have taken the back seats out again and the front passenger seat and removed the carpet and under wear below it, so that it can dry in the sun..
I was in the passenger side last night and it seems like the water is running down the inside of the car on the left handside, where the wires are coming down from...guys got any idea what that will be?
Cheers

Ok I have taken a few photos of the water outlet from the air conditioning. These are of my Ibiza Cupra so they won't be exactly the same as a Mk 3 however the positioning is similar.
This is the passenger side under the bonnet. To the left behind the distributor and down towards the bottom of the firewall you should see this.
Here is a better picture.
Coincidently after posting earlier this week my car also started filling up with water again. This morning I stuck my little finger up inside the whole and even though I didn't actually see what caused the blockage about a litre of water came out after I removed my finger. The car had been sitting for a day and a half since I last drove it.
I also had the same problem with my VR6.
Sometimes the grommet falls out also. This happened to the Vento once and instead of replacing it we got a piece of heater pipe with a right angle bend in it and pushed it on to form a drain. I will try and take a picture of what we did to the Vento tomorrow to show you.
I hope this helps.

VW got this bit a little wrong , the Porsche Cayenne which is Touereg platform has the same thing. Because the outlet is flush oe even subflush in some case the water ( which is great at finding nooks and crannies will go between the firewall and down into the carpet amongst the Ecu,s. Best fix was to make an extension to that so that it spouts into the engine bay. When fixed the pipe sat out about 10-20mm. Cured the problem. Just on that had a cockroach got lodged in there too and had a seriously wet carpet.
