    Mk3 VR6 Wheels

    Hi,
ive been looking at getting some new wheels for my golf vr6 and was thinking of going for some widened beetle steelies.
they are originally 16x6.5 et42 but when i get them widened im just planning on putting the band just on the front lip to make it easier. after widening i would have 16x8.5 et17 at the back and 16x8 et23 at the front i was wondering if any one had pictured of wheels that size on there vr6, wether its eather size on the fronts or the backs doesn't matter i just want to get an idea of the fitment.

    They'd sit nice. Do it.

In regards of pictures. Do a google search (vortex) should show up some similar specs.

Just have the centre welded into a new hoop, be easier that way to just pick one with the width you want, then pick your backspacing

Hey guys found some rim for my mk3 vr6, but they're 17x7.5 +45 will they fit or is there gonna be clearance issues up front?

im no mk3 wizard but id imagine that would be getting pretty damn close, unless the wide track allows it to clear

Pends on the spoke design but generally +45 is too high.

I have 17x8 +35 and I'm pretty tucked. I'd like to be around +30-25 but lightweight wheels with wheel spacers is a little odd sounding to me (others would disagree )

I bought the car when it had 17x7 +40 and even though it fit, it looked stupid.

You might even foul on something with that width and that offset.

Honestly though, you'd have to try them on for a definite.
