    I know that feeling! Im in the same boat, haven't had the time to do my current car properly yet either, even though it bugs me every time I see it...

    If it clicks it usually means the motor is fine. Least in my two cases it has. I haven't been able to move the window either.

    Windows are stuck shut, when you push the button you hear a click from the motor and that's it. Is that what yours did? How did you fix them?

    Yeah mine acted that way. I just cable tied it back on. Only takes 15 mins.

    Yeah, I looked at them but got the impression that my problem was electrical as the motor just clicked. was something electrical. I might try and get it all out of the door and have a look. In the end I really want to pull the electrics out anyway and go to manual front windows, fixed mounted rear leaxan windows and leaxan hatch window.

    Most likely will be just the regulator. I done one a few years back. It is a bitch to take the damn thing out of the door. They had a fascination with making everything a tight fit.

    Thanks mate I still haven't had a look lol I will soon but!

    Yeaterday I spent a few hours on the VR6. I started off by changing the sparkplugs, the old ones where wet so thats something ill have to look at. After I change them I then changed the gerabox oil with some nice royal purple stuff. I also went and got an exhaust put on the other day I went with a 2.5 inch cat back running a hotdog in the center and a decent muffler up the back, it sounds great but its not loud at all its perfect. Now ill get out there and finish doing the oil, coolant and fuel filter.

    I have a question for everyone that reads my build thread, my G/F is selling her MK3 CL 2 door I want her to keep it as we have spent a fair bit of time on the car but she is determined to upgrade to a newer car. So I was thinking about keeping it myself, I love the look of the 2 doors I think they look heaps better then the 4 door golfs but the 1.8 is a painfully slow motor so I was thinking of putting everything from the VR into the CL. The thing that gets me here is I feel that the MK3 VR6 is some what of a iconic hot hatch of the 90's, does anyone else feel the same way or is it just a 4 door golf with a 6 cyl and a some options? Do I pull my interior, running gear, and other bits and pieces that make a VR6 a VR6 and transplant it all into the 2 door? If there where an abundance of VR6s around I wouldn't even think twice about this and I would be 100% throwing everything into the 2 door. So in a round about way the question is really what do you think about pulling apart a genuine running/driving VR6 to make a 2 door VR6?
