Reco mate, safe bet with some warranty, and you will need a dryer , and the system flushed.

Its a mugs game putting an untested Compressor into a VR6. I`d risk it with a 2L, but they are much harder to fit to a VR6. Reco it and be safe.

I saw the pain Golf Loon had when he did mine... twice.

When it comes to AC in a VR6, do it once and do it right.

    Receiver/Dryer unit:

No idea how expensive they are over here, but I got a new one after replacing the compressor only to have more issues. Seems it's one of the more common points of failure in many (all) AC systems. At $40 it's not that expensive and means you wont have to worry about it for another 10 years It's probably worth doing the switch while your there too (I did).

Is this about when someone should drag out the warnings. RUN YOUR AC, even in winter, so a few minutes each week. This makes sure the fluid is moved around the systems and the seals stay nice. Otherwise it's very possible that a system that works now will not work in summer.

I have a reco`d one here on the shelf $400 with warranty.

90% of the time if you vacuum out the system and fit a reco`d compressor thats all that will be needed.
