    A couple of months on and I can happily say that I have not had an issue with the clearance on the switchblade, still working perfeclty and I'm happy to keep using it.

    how did you go with all this???

    i am thinking of doing something with mine... i hate having to use the key to unlock that car...worst idea ever! my 79 golf had remote central locking lol

    I bought a remote keyless entry kit from eBay (search for "RightClick") which had their own switchblade units. Nowhere near the quality of the OEM ones but at least I have functional buttons as well as start the car as I've placed my immboliser into the switchblade unit, much like what Aaron has done here.

    The guts of one of my posts:
    Long story short the kit I accidently purchased this kit which includes actuators which I didn't need since I was hooking up to the vacuum pump.

    It's all of 4 wires connected to the stock air pump and away you go. Easy as!
