Mk3 Key replacement

Hi guys need to know the best/cheapest way to get a new transponder key.

Ebay and Vag?

Local locksmith wants to sting me $350 & he's a total D$%K which makes it a painful proposition giving him any money at all.

Any ideas?

Im afraid not, a colleague lost the only one. I had no idea how much of a nightmare replacing it would be.

You should be able to unlock the car if you have the key, but you won't be able to start the car without the transponder

Yeah im kinda looking for a solution that allows me to start the car..

I have a key cut that opens the door however it doesnt start the car due to the ECU, Immobiliser needing to relate to the key.

Sooo if anyone has any insight as to where or how i can get a transponder key cut & programmed that would be fantastic.

I have got it cut and programmed by an emergency locksmith near me. Their cost was fair for programming the key.
