I have had my Mk3 Hella Celis projectors for yonks. Really nice wide beam. Stuck a H7 HID 5000K kit in and WoW. The projectors can be switched over to RHD with a flick of a lever inside the headlight.
Mk4 Look are still refectors.
Hi All,
would appreciate any opinions/feedback on Hella Celis and Hella mk4 style headlights if you are using these. A rock took out the left side of my Hella dual rounds. I'm thinking of changing to the Celis or the mk4 style ones if I can't find a dual round set on ebay etc. I know not to get headlight sets from USA as the beams point in the wrong direction and the mounting points are different.
I like the look and light throw of the dual rounds but realise these have been out of production a long time.
Thanks in advance

Depends what you like the look of... if you want to run hids then get the projector headlights but if you're not concerned then go for whatever you like? the beam patterns will obviosly be better with the projectors..... I'm tossing up at the moment which way I want to go, I kinda think projectors on our aging mk3's look a bit silly and ricey (exception for the Dual rounds).....

Appreciate for your input Gigtt and KI11Z, thanks. I like the look of the dual rounds and also the latest lighting technology (and beam pattern) the Celis provide. With this feedback, I think I will leave the mk4 style ones out of my list and and decide on trying to find Dual rounds or get the Celis.
personally, I think the dual rounds are nicer than the celis.... with all due respect to anyone running them, I think they look ricey and dont flow well with the car........... have you concidered colour coding your dual rounds? How bad is the crack?
Ive been running the Hella Celis for a while now they are a pretty good unit. I have had them completely disassembled to modify mine because I wanted black internals so I can tell you they are well built and a good quality item.
Strictly speaking the beam pattern is not switched to a dedicated RHD beam pattern with the switch built into the lights, it actualy gives you a flat beam pattern so if your OK with that its a piece of cake. (flat beam wont blind oncoming traffic)
I modified mine to give me a dedicated RHD beam pattern by flipping the cut off shields which was a bit of work but to be honest if I didn't take them apart I probably wouldn't have bothered the flat pattern is fine.
Pic of lights before put into the car.

They look much better painted black, good work son. any pics of them on the car?
I also pulled my projectors out and made a new sheild with the correct cut off and bright spot.
here is the stock beam pattern with H7 globes flicking the switch over from LHD to RHD on the right side only.
I have also gbought a spare set of Celis that are RHD... cannot confirm if they are RHD as They are still in the box

KI11Z: the outer projector lens is completely cracked and the housing also has a big chunk missing. Have not considered color coding yet.
Robby K: nice work, like what you did with your Celis. That would be the best of both worlds for me; but don't know if I would be game enough to disassemble and paint them. Thanks for your feedback on the quality of the unit and beam pattern.
Gigitt: thanks for the beam pattern. where did you buy your spare Celis set and what was the postage like?
