In Australia, you need a whole 3.5 cabrio to rob for parts.
The radiator support is metal on those cars and the guards are longer.
Rear Bumper has the plate recess in it too, so you`d need to smooth your tailgate.
Trouble is the 3.5 cabrios are worth 10k still and any at the auctions are hit in the front.
If I found a straight one, I wouldn`t sell you lot the bars, I`d put a VR6 in it and grin

Don't be a douchebag, it's just the different types of things people like to do. The civil answer to Jared's question is that they don't make a readily available Aus mk4 VR6'd car. No need to squabble on about irrelevant crap.

Oh, and about the silly comments thing: That's Jared's opinion, and I agree with it. The lines of the trims don't flow to start, I just think it looks tacky and wrong.

Thankyou for saying what needed to be said.

and if you wanna make silly coments why put a 20vt in a mk1 why not buy a mk4 or why put a vr6 in a mk2 might aswell buy a mk3

turns out it wasn't such a silly comment, more so an opinion, one that seems to be shared a bit too.

and btw, I ain't putting a 20VT in a mk 1, or VR6 in a mk 2. And nor am I planning on doing such either; so I donno where those comments came from

You just re-iterated what I said. Thanks mate
If you'd have understood why I said what I did, you'd know that I said it to make a point. Your comment was hypocritical; I was merely highlighting that. Any work done on our cars, whether it be bodykits, wheels, engines or friggen WINDOW REPLACEMENTS is all because we want to do it.

This isn't a fight you moron! My car will be what I want it to be. I'll have you know that a lot of people like it and I've never seen a VR6 quite the same, so technically it's 'different'. Get over yourself, man.

Then the question is; why spend money on a car at all? Everyone has their own answers to this question because everyone has their own tastes.

Get back on topic please or admin will lock the thread.

I feel the same way, the only expectations you are satisfying are your own, how some people fail to realise this is beyond me...

To the OP: It has been safely stated that it CAN be done, although nobody around here has done it. It will cost a fair amount of money and a lot of effort, and despite the wide variety of opinions regarding this, it will be very respected if you go to such efforts. It's up to you now, there needn't be any more said I don't think.
