I think he means the vento...
He was a nice guy, and he was like 6'6! Even I was uncomfortable driving the CL with no seat height adjustment or steering wheel adjustment! Anyone ever fitter height adjustable seats or a height adjustable seat frame to a CL?
I'll work out the camber, I was messing around with all that stuff on the Vento for a while. Apparently it is a self adjusting clutch cable, does the adjuster ever fail?
The guy said it was actually a German built car, maybe that explains the oval indicators and flares (which are from factory cos they're riveted on and very neatly fitted)
My friend came with me to get the car, he knows a lot about all sorts of cars, said the clutch feels a bit strange. Also the owner said it has a really long clutch and it's been like that since he got it 6 years ago. Maybe that is just how it is. I don't know what a clutch is meant to feel like and I didn't stall once driving around the streets here so it all works fine. Might just put a bit of lube on it and see if it gets a little looser :)
The plan is to get it fixed but not resprayed body colour. The whole car needs a full respray so what's a bit of primer. I had a plan to spray the whole car matte black or a really dark matte grey. That with my wheels and low
Yes it is, rear left. I need to dig deeper to see if the lower part of the panel is nearing rust. There's a really small bubble on the passenger door as well. I suppose that's what you get from a life without being garaged...ever.
I take that as a compliment, but it's a Vento and it's automatic lol
What sort of engine mods can be done to the 1.8 8v for a bit more power? It's super nippy already but now that I've finally got a manual! A full exhaust and other performance mods are possible without worrying about the weak automatic and drone of the gears.
I have a cl 3dr converted to vr6. I'm running vr6 seats and adjustable column so they must have been put in by someone along the way. I'm not that tall but my head I nowhere near the roof. Seat doesn't go back far enough though , need. Few more clicks back to be perfectly comfy. It's fine though.
All Mk3's have an adjustable column.
vento front + 3dr mk3?
 yes please.
So, a productive afternoon. Camber just ended up needing an adjustment to the lower strut bolts... Perfect now :D
Sticky clutch has been lubed, feels a bit better.
Ripped apart the whole interior to mainly get the roof liner out (success) and while I was there I checked if water had pooled in the lower part of the guard under the rust holes, no water, and no rust down there :) ...so it seems the only severe rust is what I posted in the first post! Fricken winning! haha
Also discovered the rear right window had been replaced at some point and also the windscreen had been out at some point.
No signs of previous accidents and after looking really closely at the entire body it is extremely straight! Not even one carpark ding! Paint is **** and so are the bumpers but all in all it is an awesome car!
I want to swap the seat frames over and put my vento ones in the golf. Would that work?
...my golf doesn't.
Yeah, I wanna do that so bad! Missus says I need to sell the Vento and it's too nice to rip the front off...but when would I ever get another Vento front end?? lol. Think I could make a decent amount parting it?
