And colour is on. No clear coat as I'm not going metallic this time. The colour is Candy White (LB9A) and I just mix the hardener into the colour. One less step and a lot less stress!

Started scrubbing the engine bay to see how tidy it is. Good enough for me! Now removing trims getting ready for closed door spray. Not bothering with removing windows, no rust can be seen.

Let the sanding beggginnnnn. Body will also be Candy White. Watched some fast n furious the other day now im hooked on the Jetta as my inspiration. Too bad it was smoked by a yucky Jap civic Mk3 2dr Project Car (1.8t swap)

Yep, picked it up from down hobart way. 227xxx kms which I thought was ok with some solid service history. It will probably come apart once I get it all going in the mk3... Budget is being prepared more thoroughly for the build this time haha. Thanks for looking around.

Still plenty of time going into this thing, just sand sand sand right now. Uncovering any rust gremlins and basically only parts are the sills where it wasn't jacked properly. Bent back into shape and wirewheeled back, ready to rust convert. All the boring stuff, nothing exciting. Getting to keen to see it all pretty again ready to drop the Audi parts in Mk3 2dr Project Car (1.8t swap)

Well after much cleaning up, I finally got this thing in primer. Was so close to spraying then spotted a teeny tiny bit of rust above the windscreen... despite this being a "quick" close door respray, I couldn't help myself but to clean out and treat the rust.

So I removed the windscreen, and by remove I mean booted, and by booted I mean I BOOTED THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT OF IT, hahahaha. Helped me get the stanley knife in there to cut it out easier. Windscreen also folds up quite nicely to fit in my rubbish bin too Mk3 2dr Project Car (1.8t swap)

Spotted lots of rust once it was out, most likely as it was not the original windscreen so someone has hacked in there before and scratched it up.

    Onwards with sanding!

Haha I sure did, could've done it the right way, but why not do it the fun way.

Not much to update but have spent a fair bit of time in last few weeks. Car is sanded, now ready for colour. Time to prep the remaining accessories like bumpers, spoiler, side trims, mirrors and handles, then will spray everything in colour in one hit Mk3 2dr Project Car (1.8t swap) it's going to be extremely white lol.
