And now the accelerator pedal mount. This was a bit of fun, very happy with how it turned out! Would be keen to see any pics of how anyone else have done this.
So I drilled out all the spot welds for the bracket from my donor audi and thought I would use that. I'm not one to do much welding so was able to make it work just with nuts and bolts and folding and cutting some brackets. Anyways, heres the bracket.

This was a good start as the bracket bolts to the brake booster which is the same pattern in the golf. Needed to pickup a few more points of strength so went ahead and used the spot weld holes I had drilled out as a starting point. One of them I just added a spacer between it and the firewall, the other I just added a weird Z angle bracket kinda thing.

Then a bit of the old "nothing to see down here" black paint added to the mount and taadaa, a cheap alternative to buying one off the internet, that probably wouldn't have worked.

While I was in there, removed a crap tonne of this HEAVY insulation. Must be at least 15kg of it.
