Miss fire VR6 - need help

    Hi everyone,
It started yesterday, when I pull away at low revs, or go arouns a corner and the revs are between 1 and 2 thousand. The car miss fire or hesitate, as soon as it goes over 2 thou it is ok. Dont know what it could be, or if I really should be driving the car like this?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I did the plugs about 1500km ago. Was hoping it not to be the coilpack.
It only happens about 50% of the time, which makes it even more weird

Mine was an intermittent problem also, did it when it was cold mostly, but sometimes it would just randomly start missing.

Try using a MAF cleaner. I cleaned mine out today, i had a hesitation/misfire at around about 3000rpm most of the time, now its drastically reduced, and the car in general runs A LOT better. The cleaner is in an aerosol and not too dear, certainly cheaper than some of the other options. It worked for mine so why not give it a go?

If that doesn't help i'm not to sure, i've heard oil leaking onto the leads/spark plug connection can cause some issues so maybe look there as well.

Could get one from many places. I'd go to GAP because they're decent.

    Hi,

Check the plugs for wear. The gap may look OK but the spark travels from the underside down the insulator so the undesides of the earth fingers wear yet the gap viewed looking into the plug nose looks normal. There should be no real erosion of the under side of each finger. If there is, this can cause misfiring.

Coil pack? have you thought about repairing. Try searching Google with "vr6 coil pack repair". Quite a few repair offerings to cure the internal spark leakage/breakage of the top insulator cover.
