Don't want to follow the crowdbut I had a hatch painted previously and the glass wasn't taken out. Rust bubble appeared a few weeks later at the edge where it meets the rubber.

So my vote= take glass out!!!!!

Problem with taking the glass out is it has to be stored, we need to buy things to actually put them back in again, it needs to be done right, it's a hell of a lot more time...it just gets very messy.
It's just money. Just get a pro to put it back in for you!

Who else wants to repeat it? lol, sheesh.

Fine I'll take the glass out. Just dunno when, where, how, who, how much, etc. Don't really care about it at this point because we've only just started the big process.

    More importantly, 'nother update.

Fixed all dents, scratches etc with sanding and filler, and painted hi fill primer over them.

The boot line still ain't right ...gonna take a while methinks. Slap on some more filler and carefully sand down along the two edges to try get it straight.

Car looks so aggressive and phuckoff now...hahaha:

    Camouflage paint ftw!!

Rear right door, and bottom edge of the front left door still need sanding and hi-filling; we'll do that tomorrow. Stay tuned for camber hopefully!

Mate a tip I've learnt (but not used yet) when doing body lines is, to use tape as a straight edge along the body line, and then you sand up until that line and dont go past it, and then once you've done the bottom, put tape on the bottom side of the line and then sand the top, that way you end up with a striaght crisp body line.

hope that makes sense, and helps.

Thanks brah yeah I finally went badgeless hehehe..I still do love the front end with a polished VW symbol there, but the car is going to be cleaner without it not sure whether I'll keep the VR6 badge on the front or not. Who thinks I should/shouldn't?

That does make sense mate, I was thinking of using something like string or chalk-string but it just wouldn't have lasted. I'll give it a go hey! Cheers man.
