GAP suck! As far as I'm aware, they only sent my order out on friday!! When my dad asked for a shipping quote they assumed they should wait for confirmation instead of going ahead, so I've now been waiting two weeks for nothing. Price is rising constantly for the currency rates and all....

So you asked them for an estimate then didn't confirm it was all good after they sent it to you and it's their fault?

Sucks about the exchange rates, but I think this one can't be blamed on GAP... Mind you I just had a look the exchange rate on the weekend you ordered (the 10th) was 0.8953 and on Friday 22/08/2008 it was 0.8803 so it's not like a month ago when it dropped 10c in that time.

Oh, and going back a bit:

Steve, one order I did took 4 days. I think it has a little to do with time differences and weekends too, but it can vary a bit. So yeah, I think three days is possible if all the planets align

I must have worded it badly...sorry, we didn't ask them to provide an estimate. We said what is the shipping price, for the sake of knowing? This was so I could organise finer details, because they had already estimated price for me. Then they told me a price, but they must have thought we were asking for a quote before going ahead. Which, to me, seems wrong because we weren't. Just a lack of communication.

Anyways, it still sucks because i'm 2 weeks further on without a GAP package, but what can I do..hehe.

EDIT: and OH yes the planets certainly aligned. Not for me, but for a friend of mine who received his GAP order in less than 4 days or so. Prick! hehe.

My first post in this thread.
Must say a nice little build up you've got going on. Starting to gain some real momentum. Those wheels look real sweet. Be interesting to see how they look on and how "skinny" they end up looking. :p
Also I suppose here is as good as any place to ask it. How do people go about removing the rear badge? I figure the front is clipped in but the rear is glued on isn't it?
    Cheers,

Rear is attached with double sided, real pain to get off without damaging your paint. Screwdriver wrapped in masking tape is prolly the best way but still dodgy really

A blow-dryer or heat gun to soften the adhesive will help, but instead of a flat-head, use dental floss or fishing line. There will still be gunk left but don't be tempted to scrape it off.

With Goof Off from Bunnings and a clean rag, you should be able to get rid of what remains on the bodywork of the car.

After that, give it a decent polish and wax.

Same thing applies to the VW badge too, except the masking tape around flathead trick would be easier. Spraying some Goof Off while the badge is still on will also help.

Good to hear from you in this section Trent, here's hoping I can provide some entertainment with a baby brother to your car
I'm still faffing about with wheels, I'm trying to get my mate's goodyear eagle F1's off him (<$350) but if that's too hard to replace I've got to go to the shop and grab some others. I hope I get them on soon...I want to see it sooooo bad! And I'll be getting spacers if they aren't phat enough

I still think the black badge on my car would look a bit too obvious...I like the mk4 hatch badge Jondarren has so I might have to chase him up for a link..

Then of course I'd have to get other blue things to match...calipers, front badge...
