All is well except my hands and arms. Bruised, battered, ripped and split to say the least I suppose.
Worth it though! I'm liking the new engine mounts my car feels the same power-wise but the engine feels more solid so that's a plus. No more movement and no more gearbox jerking in fast gear-changing! I use my car daily and I've driven it around a lot since Saturday...It's not as bad as I thought it would be, BUT I thought it was much worse when I first drove it. lol, I thought ''what have i done...''
Next step is respray and repair! Then after that I think I'd like to try and give my wheels a fair go seeing as I started and stopped that idea pretty quickly.

Argh...this sound won't go away! Someone help me?
I've replaced strut top mounts, and recently engine mounts. I've STILL got some sort of weird knocking sound, either when i engage a gear while i'm driving or when i take off. It doesn't always happen but it felt before like i was getting abnormal engine movement. I've noticed that the car still jerks a bit before the power is engaged when i go to change gears.
The only thing I can think of is a fudged driveshaft...anyone???

Knocking could be your driveshaft, the stretch bolts in the subframe can cause knock along with your control arm bushes ( rear ones on the front arms). Also check the big bolt that goes through the control arms , the one that face North/South. Had one today hanging off (NOT GOOD) . This was causing a clunk on take off, accelerate/decel. Steering geometry was seriously compromised. Tightened bolt and drives straight as die now. It has another typical VR6 suspension clunk ( still under investigation).
Cheers
