that sucks mate... hope u can get a hold of him!
ok after doing some research it turns out the pump is deff not the right one... i bought: eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d which as you can see has a flat face for the pulley and no indents in the round bung. The pump that came off is like this one VW $90 New Power Steering Pump for 89-95 Corrado VR6, 93-96 Golf VR6, 92-97 Passat VR6 Volkswagen and needs the indents as the holes are closer together and as you can see the part numbers are different... argggg and being a saturday i can't get onto the ebay guy to see if he has one of the other ones... fail.
that sucks mate... hope u can get a hold of him!
oO= VR6 =Oo
yeh i got onto him, emailed off the spacing i need on the pulley bolts and hes gonna see if he has a pump to suit... he said had never had this issue and I said from what I've gathered the later date mk3's use the pump he gave me and the earlier ones use the one I need... at least that's all I can conclude from all this
ok crisis averted! So it turns out there are 2 pumps for the vr6, unbeknown to them as they have never had use this other one... So the right one is being couriered over night to my door and should be here in the morning! Should have my car all back together tomorrow arvo, I've already been having withdrawals from driving it and I haven't even had it for a week... This ones a keeper me thinks Also need to organize the rwc for it and once that's done i can't start with the modding!
Hazah! She lives! Well after a bit of an ordeal with this whole which pump is right business the car is now back together and purring along beautifully. Steering feels amazing now, tis and absolute dream to drive. Rwc is booked in for next friday and I have feeling they'll pick it for rear tyres, so I'll leave the ones on there atm and wait and see what they say. Took it for a spin before to make sure there were no leaks or anything and its all peaches. Can't wait to take it for a nice long cruise on the w/e, really test it's legs
I'm wanting to do the gearbox oil in my car, just wondering if anyone has used Redline Shockproof Gear Oil in theres? I get a slight grind going into 3rd from 2nd at high rpm and am hoping putting the redline stuff in will fix it.... If anyone can recommend this or something else to use let me know

Not much to update on this, just been driving it round. Taken a few long trips out east and I've loved every minute of it. Finally getting round to installing my dvd headunit tomorrow and I'll finally get some decent pics of it. I have a question though, I'm thinking about buying these: VW MK3 Golf Euro Front Bumper Fog Light Grille Kit | eBay just wondering if there is a difference between the aus front bar and the euro one? will those fit my front bar? Please let me know as I want to order them during the week

Can't say 100% but they really should be the same, it's going to be a bit of a trick wiring them though, you may need a Euro fog switch to replace the current headlight switch, or rig up a secondary switch. They look pretty cool though, keep us up to speed what you decide.
I've been doing some research and it seems our front bars are the same, so I'll order those during the week along with some other things. As for the wiring I have two ideas about this. One is to find a factory switch that has the foglight option, as the wiring is all there and the plugs are at the front as well (doing nothing just chilling lol) so that would prob be the best bet. The other option is to wire it up to the rear foglight switch, as I'll never use them anyway. Or I guess option three could be to just wire up a separate switch inside the cabin but I'm unsure if I wana start adding switches and so on to the clean look inside... Wonder how hard a factory foglight switch is to track down, It's the one that pulls out twice when the headlights are on, once for rear foglights, second for fronts... Anyone got one spare? lol

Well the headunit install dint go as planned, turns out that someone got mega lazy in the past and there is like 3 stereo looms onto of each other behind the headunit atm... Ill sort it out during the week. Anyways went down to portsea this arvo with some mates and took a couple of pics
