Nankang ftw. I noticed just about every stretched, lowered etc golf had them.
8" = 205mm.... hence, no stretch.
also, tyre brand has an impact.
I really want the red mk1 16v that's for sale and can't afford to have both. Not desperate or anything just thought I'd throw it up and see what happens. I'm more than happy to keep it.

Bought a vento today.
Spent a while cleaning it out and washing it. There was hay in the ashtray. The interior was filthy, photos don't do it justice. It looked like it hadn't been washed for about 2 years.
Speedo was stuffed but I had a cluster that I've swapped in. Air con doesn't work, rear right window reg broken, rear muffler rusted off so that's in the boot. Rego runs out in 4 days so hopefully have time to get the exhaust and pink slip in the next two days. Central locking doesn't work. Apparently ignition issues causes it to not start everytime, previous owner said it's the immobiliser so that will have to be fixed.
Plans are to get it registered, put some vr seats in, give the engine bay a good clean and service it, coilovers, remove crappy window tint (maybe get it redone) get the door dent pulled or a replacement door, wheels (possibly 5x100 vr swap) and fix majority of the problems.
So the vr is going to have to go...

Thanks Yeah I'm surprised at how good the body is considering how dirty it was, most the 'scratches' came out after a good scrub. Got all the log books for servicing so the engines all good. As far as I know it was a factory manual, considering everything else is completely original I'd be surprised if its been swapped.
thats awesome find man, shame bout the door tho. after a good wash should come up good. jealous bout the grill tho, love the early grill as its easy to black it out if you wanted too
