ahh wicked! Good to hear its done, really looking forward to seeing it, although I wont be at nats this year thanks for uni exams being the day after
Hooray, we are finally reaching the finish, if there is such a thing, we have spent the last year since the Nationals 2010, working on "LUCY" after many many hurdles and set backs, not counting the $$$$ we have finally got her sweet as
Where do I begin:-
1. Replaced engine parts and got her running, radiator, fuel pump, ECU,MAF,Air Box
leads etc etc
2. K W Coilovers, one broken, had to get replacement.
3. New body parts, bonnet,Grille, bumper, radiator housing etc etc.
4. New lights all round.
5. Wheels refurbed, new tyres.
6. Repaint body
7. Replaced headlining and painted interior plastics to match
8. Reupholster front seats in matching leather.
9. Roadworthy and registration inspection etc.
10. New disc's, pads and brake upgrade.
11.Bring wheels out & lower, got to have the stance, would like more poke, but
asking for trouble.
12. New AMP
13. Cleaned and polish under car- exhaust etc
14. Clean, polish and paint parts inside engine.
She is almost ready for the 2011 Nationals, Tony still spends nearly ever night and many days working on her.
To get Lucy up to the standard that Chris would have had her.
Hopefully he's looking down smiling and as proud of us as we are of him.
He would realize that for Tony - never being mechanic- it has been a hard uphill slog and a big achievement.
Without to two best mechanics out there ( Adam & Jimmy) we would not have got this far.
We are now so looking forward to taking her to the Nationals (including convoy trip down) for all to see.
She not only looks good but sounds good and is amazingly fast.
Don't forget we are having a BBQ on 5th June to celebrate us finishing both Chris's VR6's.(see events for details) all our friends welcome,it'll be a great day.
Couldn't have done it with out the support of all our friends at VWwatercooled
Will post pics after the Nats, for all to see
Chris's VR6pitcrew, RIP our Chris *our No.1 Son*

VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life
There are few things more satisfying in life than finding a solution to a problem and implementing it
