Do you get the humming sound at low speed? Or is it only at 100km? Could it be the wheel bearings?
So bought a $400 golf built everything up etc all on the road now, only problem is there's a loud humming sound at the rear left of the car, especially going at 100km, I know it's not the engine what can it be?

Second that, also could be a scalloped tyre, from not being rotated or stuffed shocks.
Other cause could be a Directional tyre fitted the wrong way on car.

Yeh think it's the wheel bearings, getting a kit and fitting them on next weekend I'll see how it goes, everyone's is saying that's what it is -.-

Sounds the same as mine, I get a slight 'whirling' sort of sound when I sit on the freeway at around 100 km/h. My first guess was wheel bearings coz it's not coming from the engine. I haven't seen to mine yet though. Let us know how it goes!
