Will allow more crap to lodge in wheel arches and whilst VW have a rust guarantee wont help that
I'm going to take off the black textured pieces of trim lining the wheel arch, but this removes a couple of little pieces of trim at the front and back of the car, front one being directly down from the side marker and the rear one basically directly down from the indicator, probably about 50mm long. Just wondering, firstly, do they actually make these pieces in the texture trim? and if so, does anyone some spare?
Cheers

If I recall correctly (which I probably dont, might be just making this up) I don't think anything came with those trim bits textured. You can swap on trim from a CL or GL or something with textured trim but you need all the door trims as theyre a different size, so the end bits dont quite match up. Could also maybe get those pieces off a colour coded vr6 and just paint them with a textured sort of paint and see if they match.
How will removing a few pieces of crappy plastic that most mk3s don't even have lodge more crap inside the wheel arches and cause rust?
And fair enough Ben, thought that might be the case. Do VR6s with colour coded trim have the same size as textured? Or are they the gl/cl size? I had a look at your old VR and noticed you had taken them off but left those bits blank. Still looked better though! I need to take them off to roll my guards and also because it'll look a lot better with the new wheels which will be going on soon.

Honestly I have no idea. Wish I could help out more but it was ages ago I looked into this stuff. I always intended on putting the arch trim things back on my vr6, had just taken them off to roll the gaurds and wasnt sure how to reattach them nice. I know I did find answers to the exact question you're asking, just can't remember what they were haha
My 3 door is missing those bits too after the first owner decided they wanted flares and chopped the back moldings to make them fit, it's even harder to find the back ones for mine . You shouldn't have too much trouble finding them for yours.
