You need to have it scanned for faults mate. I don't reckon there is a limp mode in VR6s.

Gavin
yeh i have had it scanned theses came up found faults 00300 transmission fluid temp sensor g93
00641 ATF temp
06-00 signal too high

Have you looked to find out what might be causing this code to come up? Is the wiring shorting out somewhere, if not then maybe the temp sensor has failed.
Gavin
where is the temp sensor located? thankyou

it's your wiring, ive repaired these before. There is a short loom that just lengthen's one of the plugs but is completely unecessary, one side of the plug rest hard up against the automatic and can be covered in battery acid and corrode.
I remove the extra loom by removing the wrecked plug and soldering up the wires. The wire colours don't match so match so make sure you
right down which meets which and you'll be fine.
Otherwise if that plug is fine then just fix your damaged wires, but it may not come out of limp mode until you clear codes once you've repaired the wires.
yehhh theres battery acid and corrode all ova the wires look all corroded
