I had no idea it's a custom job... I have alway wondered which company sells it.. Surely opened up my mind, especially with rayray's Crazy wheel projects now days, the wheel crazy is infectious... For future references, anyone know places in sydney that does that ?
OH the issue of strech tyre.. everything is illegal but for anything, it improves the performance from what I know.

I know I'm being a bit of a wet blanket here, but stretching tyres might improve performance by making the sidewalls stiffer, but it also takes away the natural suspension properties of the tyre. I'm reminded of a mate who managed to pop a 17 inch tyre driving along Parramatta Rd. I don't really see all that much difference between my stocker 15's and the 17's with smaller sidewall. However, I could be wrong
But, if uncompromising performance is what you're after, I'm sure tyre stretching is the way to go
Hahaha, no worries!
Yeah, this thread clarifys a fair bit. However, once the rims do get a bit of poke, and lets say I do get the fenders rolled and widened to suit the rims, would it instantly be legal, or would I need an engineers certificate or something, on that topic, what exactly does/is an engineers certificate?
Now owns a golf. Stoked.
I'm not sure about an engineer's certificate, but I know that once the rim of the wheel is within the fender, then it's "legal".
Dont forget you also have a legal limit to the size of rims you run, which in SA and some other states is no more than 2" bigger/wider, therefore you can run 16x6s legally or 14x8s on a MK3 CL/GL legally! (thats if stock wheels are 6" wide, i just took a guess!)
