I had the same issue and it got worse. Ended up replacing the water pump which was probably overdue anyway.
On the off chance they are not compatible you could ruin your whole cooling system. Unless you test first.
Has anybody had any experience with using K-seal coolant leak repair (this stuff Coolant Leak Repair K-Seal 236mL - Supercheap Auto Australia) in Mk3s?
The company website indicates that it is compatible with all coolants but is it compatible with G11 and G12/G13?
'96 Vento (which runs G11 while everthing else in my fleet runs G12/G13) has a small coolant leak from the water pump and I would like to try K-seal on it. If it works that will assist me getting the Vento through the RWC inspection. I can then aim to save up some money over then next 12 months to get the timing belt, v-belts and water pump all done in the one go.

I am keen to replace the waterpump along with the timing belt. I am trying to triage the list of maintenance activities. The service log indicates that the timing belt was done at 180k so if I can delay the water pump replacement for as long as possible that woud be helpful with cashflow.
Keen to get the Vento passed through RWC inspection so that it can start being used by in-laws and by daughter. I know I will need to sort out the intermittent ABS fault and will probably have to replace brake lines and bleed the brake fluid as a minimum.
After it is registered, the next priority is v-belts, split breather pipe, determine if the oil on the engine is just from the breather pipe of if there are other oil leaks that need to be sorted out, the auto transmission servicing (it has a small leak, I got my brother's mechanic to top it up before the ferry trip back, it shifted very well during the trip and I want to keep it that way), replace the worn shock absorbers, and final the worn swaybar rubbers and engine mounts.
That is just the mechanical list.
