I think best would be a pod filter with a heat shield in terms of performance. Higher airflow than in a cut up airbox since it's entirely 'opened', and the heat shield prevents/reduces the heat-soak from engine (hot air basically). However, I've browsed around and have heard that the best 'sound' can be had from a modified airbox with a high flow filter![]()
Thanks for all your comments, suggestions guys. I'll probably stick with a panel filter for now. But its nice to know whats available.
hey h100vw.
Is the green filter washable ? as I know k&n can be cleaned with water.
Hoyhoy.
I've read some where that a pod filter to be legal in NSW has to be boxed in.
True or false, might be the question.
Hooroo.
I'm not sure that a pod filter is legal at all in NSW, except if it's 100% enclosed in a box, which of course defeats the whole purpose

the guy from auto joy said to me, it must be boxed in to prevent mechanic's arm being sucked into engine. We both had a laugh.
