If your stock shocks and springs are in good nick (chances are they are not) you can have your springs re-set to any height on the cheap.

Otherwise you can you buy new suspension locally, or like many of us have done, import from overseas on the cheap.

A set of coilovers imported can be had for under $1,000 landed, then all you need is installation/alignment.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you. | Refer a Friend - AussieBroadband $50 Credit

There are more than a few places, my thread here shows my experience and search:

    http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...ad.php?t=11349

Long story short, I got a new set of HD front mounts and these coils from German Car Performance (email Mike who is one of our sponsors here)
    http://www.germancarperformance.com/...ld-p-1139.html

    All up AU$950 landed.

Installation was done by my local place on the cheap, 4 new CV boots + coils + strut brace + poly bushes + HD top mounts + alignment for $400. (I supplied all parts)
