    ive got 312mm brakes !!!!

    thats right guys.

I got myself a space saver for the VR a few weeks ago and the other day i did a mock fit to see if it fitted.

Not a chance in hell lol. so i thought, damn... got the messuring tape and messured it up. sure thing...312mm. AWESOME!!!!

all this time i was looking at bigger brake upgrades when i already had them on lol

anyone know the history of this car? i purchased it of alex (VR6dog) over a year ago now and i wanna know the story behind the brakes lol

are there any codes i can look for on the calipers to give me an indcation of the vw/audi it came off? i need new rotors soon but i have no idea which ones to get lol.

    thanks guys

Calipers are probably the original VR ones. The brackets will have been changed for TT/S3 ones. I did this to my A3 which has 288s as std.

hey Gavin when i had a quick look i didnt see any kinda bracket. All i saw was 2 washers that are about 5-6mm thick from the caliper to the hub...

ill have a good squiz next time i have the car.

Maybe the bracket offset was wrong? Moving the bracket in and out along the length of a bolt wouldn't allow you to fit bigger discs, you need to move the caliper away from the centre of the hub. They must have been changed to fit 312s.

    Your VR6 is a 94 yeah? A lotta 94s come with 280mm brakes.
The usual upgrade that is done is using 288mm calipers with s3 caliper carriers but you also need to use a small spacer. Looks like they have done it with some washers.
Ive got my S3 brake upgrade sitting here waiting to go on my VR6. Im kinda praying they will fit under my 16" Rims. Not expecting them to though.
