My inner CV boot has a pin-hole leak which has been squirting axle grease on the downpipe for god knows how long. I sealed it up with some Sikaflex but it turns out the damage has already been done, the CV joint is noisy.
I'll most likely replace the entire shaft assembly. How easy is this? I basically got this car ('95 Vento) to learn a whole lotta stuff, so I'm doing everything myself. Not sure how it got this leak but it looks melted...
The plan was to lower it on coilovers but I'm worried the dodgy CV joint will give in to the strain of being at a constant angle...

haha sweet. Think i should just pump some more grease into the cv boot and reseal it with Sikaflex again?
I bought new driveshafts from the US (germanautoparts.com). Came up less to than $100USD each before shipping. They were EMPI brand. I had no problems with them even though I was riding quite low, though feedback from Vortex says they're not that great. I'm guessing the US guys run a lot more lower, so they blow their CVs much more easily.
Yeah I actually saw them on GAP, that may be a last resort if I can't get one locally. How much did you pay for shipping? If you don't mind me asking.....
I plan on going pretty low, I've ordered weitec coilovers, they aren't the lowest but they will drop up to 70mm from stock height.
Would it be any easier to replace the driveshaft while I've got the suspension off?
Don't remember how much shipping was but all up, it still came up cheaper than buying a set of driveshafts locally.
And yes, suspension off would make removing the driveshafts easier.
