Pretty sure you can't adjust it. The dissy is pegged IIRC and the ECU looks at the crank position.
Gavin
I can't find any solid info for this anywhere, Bentley has info for other 2.0L engines but doesn't seen to apply for the 2E.
Can anyone help out?
Not having any major issues just trying to ensure she's running the best she can after replacing a few other components.
Cheers

No on mine it isn't pegged, once you loosen clamp the dissy can be rotated as per normal when adjusting timing. And the timing moves retard / advance as per normal.
Everything I've seen about 2.0L says its pegged but I think that's all US related engine info.

Hi SAS,
Gavin is right. When you loosen the clamp and rotate the distributor, the revs will rise or fall then the ECU will readjust to the factory parameters.
No worries.....so is there any basic tuning adjustments that can be made, or is it all controlled by the ECU?

Set it up as if you were setting up a MK2 Digi 1.8
You can play with timing (dizzy) and idle (there's a routine to be carried out).....and that's it.

Don't be too concerned with CO.
All of the above info relies on your 2E being in an early MK3 and that it's running on Digifant

80 series - The MK2's BIG, Sooty, polar opposite...
HAHAHA
Thanks, I will have a play & see how I go.

Couldn't find any idle adjustment screw on my throttle body by just looking at it in the engine bay, so took it right off to have a good look & to give it a decent clean........and no there is no adjusting screw. And only what I think is a throttle position sensor. On the digifant on my caravelle there is adjustments on the throttle switch for idle position & wide open throttle (if memory serves correct). None on this one.
I also cannot get it to show only 6 degrees advance when I rev it to 2500rpm. It just advances like a normal car then returns to 6degrees at idle speed.
Must be doing something wrong.......is there something I have to do to reset the ECU after disconnecting the coolant temp sensor etc?
Everything I read talks about disconnecting the "Blue coolant temp sensor" but mine is not blue, or am I looking at the wrong one?

all done in the computer, about the only thing you can do is re align the dizzy to the marks.
