    Ignition Key Chip?

    Hey,
    I have a 97 vr6 and Ive just ordered a keyless entry unit from rightclick. I was just wondering if there is a chip inside my ignition key that I will have to remove and place inside the new fob to make it work. The unit hasn't arrived yet but I just realised the chip as an afterthought.

    yep there will be a little rectangular chip inside the key. If you split the key in half you will be able to see it.
