    That sure is unique, I saw some guy driving around Logan the other day with a screwdriver as the gear stick.
    how much throw you do get while driving it like that?

    i drove for about a week and took the tall shifter out. was in there for bit of joke. i made a stupid tall one ages ago on my old navara...

    but the wheels have gone onto my girlfriends red mk3, her tyres were dead so i just gave her them. they actually look better with the white and red. i dont have a photo but im sure ill take one soon enough.

    did an oil change the other day, did the DIY cold air intake mod and cut the **** out of the air box, got a BMC high flow filter, and adjusted the headlights and got new bulbs for them too.

    i also decided to get a roof basket too, gonna come in handy with carrying all my things up there!
    ill be going to the snow this year so that will be good, plus it looks cool.

    cleaned the stockies, need to get new rubber on them now. i know everyone keeps saying to slam it, but ive just got out of my squareback and im pretty done with being low at the moment. actually thinking of going the other way

    also found this photo of my vento yesterday and got all ham about it.

    When I went off-road I was very, very thankful I did not slam it. Red filter looks nice, even though you won't see it again.
    That Vento looks neat, what happened to it?

    ok so having trouble finding passat struts so until then i have decided to go full on ghetto DIY.
    this is only for the rear and gives about 2" lift,
    stuff i used;
    -4 hockey pucks ($5 each)
    -lower strut spring plate
    -probably best to use spring compressors but i got away without them

    step 1 of diy lift kit;
    drill out pucks to 40mm using hole saw

    step 2
    slide the hockey pucks over the bottom and then put the extra spring plate on and assemble struts
    you can see in this photo it does actually raise the the strut but it just makes them stiffer thus lifting the car

    step 3
    install and step back, take a photo and have a beer.

    this literaly took me all of an hour to do, and that was without spring compressors, if i had them it would of taken half that time.
    gives a pretty good result for $20 and very little work.

    next is the front which ill be using bilstein struts from and old car and spacing the springs.
    planning to add some fog/spot lights and maybe even a LED light bar on the roof rack, im tempted to try and do a snorkel but that is kinda "cant take it back" type move so dunno about that.
