and add decent car polish/cleaning material ontop 200-400.
because not many around THAT shiny!
Alrighty, putting some figures together here.
Mk3 GL $5.5k http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars...&Cr=3&trecs=11
Wheels $1.3k (does 17x7.5 fit?) if so, which of these?:
http://www.tempetyres.com.au/product...t=&part_no=202
http://www.tempetyres.com.au/product...t=&part_no=725
http://www.tempetyres.com.au/product...t=&part_no=760
Hottuning coilovers $1100 fitted
Stereo, no idea, but $1k budget tops (good front speakers, size?, average rear, small sub/amp, headunit that I can control/charge ipod from)
Insurance: $600? through parents + aami
So total: $9.5k If I can save enough, get it all done at once, otherwise wheels/coils first, then stereo bit by bit after.
Thoughts?
Do it! hahah.
I did things the other way around though...I was more musicially inclined before I worried about my cornering so I threw a soundsystem in there....then I got suspension, then I changed my wheels. I'd definitely say go the suspension first because it's the best feeling for the money Wheels will also probably wear off on you as they would with anyone so they shouldn't be such a priority.

For the wheels, I'd rather something in smaller diameter but a little wider if you wanted the same look as the first pic you posted up, e.g. Sportmaxx wheels.
Sportmaxx 501 15x8 ET15
Sportmaxx 513 15x8 ET0 and 15x7 ET15
Both are selling at $199/wheel @ JDMyard.
The ET0 won't be that suitable for our cars, but the 15x8 ET15 will sit nicely with a little poke up front and back.
Do it, that CL looks so right with that stance. It's just a neat clean package.
Red 99 Seat Ibiza Cupra Sport, coilovers, K&N (Gone but not forgotten)
Blue 05 Golf 2.0 TDI DSG Comfortline, leather, sunroof.
2012 BMW X3 MSport 2.0D
hmm so 15's instead of 17's? I'm not really sure as I have only seen pics of these cars, but I don't mind the look of a mk3 on 17s.
To be different though, those ET15s do look pretty nice, and aren't too expensive. $800 for wheels, then tires? I wouldn't know where to start..
Any pics of a mk3 with these et15s on?
Also, I don't want the tires to rub either, would 15x8 do this?
Is this what they'll look like in terms of sticking out? http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...M/8380_071.jpg

The offsets on those are a lot steeper than ET15. I'm running 15x8 ET15 out the back:
195/50 on + guard rolling and I don't rub at a moderately low height.
X2, those are a fantastic looking wheels by a decent manufacturer, I had sportmaxx's on my old GL and they were a good wheel that balanced well. You can also get a decent set of Bridgestones for around $110 a tire, so for around $1200 you can get a fantastic looking set of wheels with the perfect offsets.
