    How do i remove the fuel pump.

    how do i remove the fuel pump in my vr6.
    I have tryed hitting it with a hammer and screwdriver, but the ring wont budge. any trick to it? do i need a special tool?

    I did my one with Tim
    We used a screwdriver and a hammer and it did come after a while.
    I dont know maybe put some WD40 or something to lube it up and it might become a little easier

    how did you go getting the pump out of the tank? mine apeares to be locked in.

    do you have to take off the tank to get the pump out? the pump is inside right?

    Help em out rayray, the bentley is at ur house!! Haynes manual says once u have the plastic securing ring off, turn the pump/sender unit to the left to release it from its bayonet fitting. Then lift it out.

    And no, fuel tank does not need to be removed if u look inside ur boot theres a black cover and thats where u access it.

    Hammer and screwdriver to undo that ring.

    Push the pump down and turn to the left. Then just lift it out.

    A large pair of multi grips works too, but they have to be big!!!!

    ive done a couple now and this is the key once youre inside the tank! u have to turn it anti clockwise as it has a base in the bottom of the tank that it locks into.
