    Highest milege VR6 engine

    Hi all,
What is the highest milege you have seen on a VR6 engine?

280ish thousand was the highest I've seen. I have yet to see it, but I've been told that VR engines run and run and run

Forrgot to add that I currently have 240,000kms on mine.

What are my chances of seeing 300,000? Slim to none?

My mechanic did tell that hes seen a 300+k km one still going strong

If you really take care of it, keep to a strict servicing regime, then it might see past 300K.
Same with all vehicles. The more precisely it's looked after then longer it will last.

I was prepared to do the chains, but the mechanic has given it the thumbs up in that area. Said just keep using good quality oil, and service it at the recommended intervals.

The car is stock standard in everything.

Do any of you do oil changes at 5000km intervals instead of the recommended 15,000km?

I have just hit 261,000km on mine. Only mods are extractors, 2.25" magnaflow exhaust and a BMC CDA. Goes just dandy and loves to be revved. I service it whenever its due and only use high qual oil. It'll see 300,000 easy I reckon.

My oil gets swapped at 10k, I dont see the point in 5k since I dont drive it hard. If I did, I would.

For the rest of my life I'm going to stick to oil changes every 5000Ks and oil filter every 10000Ks. It's piss easy, and will make such a difference to the health of an engine. Especially in old cars now, or in late model cars in 25 years time.
