    Classic answer......I love it!

As for the OP, get it serviced regularly and keep driving. The best indication of needing a rebuild would be excessive oil consumption so just keep a tab on how much it uses.
    Cheers

my mk2 is sitting at 330 000 and it still goes hard... when it starts. i reckon bearings and bushings are the things to worry about at high mileage so long as the engine has been taken care of...

The wife's Vento has over 340,000k's on it. We bought it with around 95,000k's on the clock (which we have had to replace recently). The has engine lasted longer than the clock's. LOL. It still runs like a charm. I bought a spare engine about 2 years ago just in case. It's sitting in the garage and I think it will be there for a long while yet.

shame wangara is over 10km from my place!

this afternoon after paying bunnings a visit, reversed and it stalled. turned it back over and that lasted a few seconds then nothing.
now all she does is turn on but thats about it. we walked 25 minutes back home and got the other car. put in fuel as it was a low. nothing.

drove around and after a two stops finally found tow ropes. not highly stocked by the looks of it.

then we had to wait for my father so he could drive my car, in tow. he had a lot of trouble stopping and steering himself; so i'm seriously glad we had the help!

RAC say it is most likely the fuel pump. or a blockage? so car hospital for us tuesday, with a free tow within 10kms.

an annoyance but the joy of owning a car hey?

p.s on the walk home we saw two crows chasing a young dove. the dove was running under a car and then the crows managed to scare it out and death! now that was something you wouldn't see when driving your car ...
