shame wangara is over 10km from my place!

this afternoon after paying bunnings a visit, reversed and it stalled. turned it back over and that lasted a few seconds then nothing.
now all she does is turn on but thats about it. we walked 25 minutes back home and got the other car. put in fuel as it was a low. nothing.

drove around and after a two stops finally found tow ropes. not highly stocked by the looks of it.

then we had to wait for my father so he could drive my car, in tow. he had a lot of trouble stopping and steering himself; so i'm seriously glad we had the help!

RAC say it is most likely the fuel pump. or a blockage? so car hospital for us tuesday, with a free tow within 10kms.

an annoyance but the joy of owning a car hey?

p.s on the walk home we saw two crows chasing a young dove. the dove was running under a car and then the crows managed to scare it out and death! now that was something you wouldn't see when driving your car ...

Hi car needs 3 things to run, spark, fuel and compression. Sounds like fuel but need to test. Golfwagen can have a look if you want, just let me know.

I think Wangara is over 15 kms from my house, but I wouldn't trust anyone else with my VR6... Joe knows his stuff. I drive my car there from Nedlands.

There is a VW/Subaru specialist joint in Balcatta if thats closer. I've used him before - nice guy, knows his stuff.

But still, Golfwagen is it for me, even if I too have to drive a bit to get there and the poor sod is nowhere near a train station!

Running the car out of fuel, or even very low, fuel will overheat kill the fuel pump. Its cooled by petrol. Good luck

would take it to wangara but it won't run, so it's being towed for free within a 10km radius.
    most likely the fuel pump.

golf is now back home safe and sound! can you beleive it, arrived at the mechanic and she changed her mind and started for them.
they did countless tests and they all came out fine. must have just been having a bad day?
they did an oil/filter change and made me aware that the rear brake pads need replacing next service.

so i guess not all is lost, just a little money from my pocket. finally get back into the drivers seat tomorrow. P-plates here i come!!

could people please post VW mechanics they know of, in perth? there is the wanaga one but rather far from where i live, possibly worth the drive though! any others?

Get some tools and a Bently

You could start fixing your car by yourself....

You'd be surprised at the satisfaction it can give you...
