Head unit wiring diagram for mark 3 vr6

Noob here.. Just wondering if anyone has the wiring diagram who has changed their head unit in their vr6 and if it was a difficult job.

    Cheers, Eddie.

I have done pretty much all the head units in all my cars including the VR6 It's not all that hard to do at all.

There are some adaptors that go from the stock plugs to different model stereo's for example "VN Commodore to Pioneer" which allow you just to plug it all in. That said I don't know that I have seen one for VW

Personally I make my own using one of these:
12 Pin MULTI Pin Plug / Socket - Jaycar Electronics

That way when/if you ever change your head unit you can do all/most of the soldering on the bench and not in the car

Not having ever seen the back of the stock head unit I'm not sure what the wiring is like, maybe you can even salvage the stock wiring plugs and use them (unless it plugs directly into the unit of course).

    As for the wiring itself:

Thanks mate, and it's not a stock head unit to start with the guy i bought it off has an alpine one in but it's pretty dated now.. so i'm looking to upgrade for some better sound as every time i go over a bump with the coilovers installed the cd skips lol so i'm going to get an iPod connection up and running
