Depends on so much.. Turbo cars suffer from heat soak on dyno's! It's ok the first run, but they can start dropping off power after that. NA cars should stay pretty consistent.

looks like u've never been to a dyno day before?
i think the usual loss is about 5 or 6kw but as mentioned it really depends on how much u thrash it. too much an i think it comes down to about 101kw.
oh an oil changes as well.

from what I've read if your still making over 100kw at the front wheels on a stock vr6, you're doing really well, most are under. Not all dynos give the same numbers and such though so its not much of a comparison.

I dont know about dynos but the other day I got sandwiched at the lights by two jap import lancer evos about to have a drag! Gave it some curry as well and was literally left for dead!! Vr6's are quick and kind of sleepers which makes them fun but against more modern japanese stuff..... haha
Maybe I should dyno it and see what I'm working with!

I'm still yet to be beaten at the lights by anything (except for an elderly couple) and pull away from commodores and stuff all day, but then again ive never had a go against anyone in anything actually properly tuned, ie not just some dirty car with a cannon exhaust and fully sick rimz 3 sizes to big, but that's toowoomba for you. I'm sure I'd have no chance against a lot of cars out there. Still the vr6 is a lot of fun. They sound fast atleast

Yeah one of the reasons I ask is because I was equal with my mate in his VP commodore when we dragged at the lights... It's manual with a catback exhaust but yeah still I thought the VR6 should beat it, maybe my gear changes weren't good enough! That was a while ago anyway, not long after I got my P's, then we tried to do it again last weekend and he stalled, the guy behind us could tell we were going to go for it and he was pissing himself! Anyway yeah fair enough.

Really? My friends Red Colour Concept was square with a mates VS SS that was manual with big cams and almost no exhaust (best sounding commodore I've heard), but I guess those get traction issues. Blitz the dudes VP (Auto). Also sat dead square with an XR5 Focus. Good tyres (and not too big) about 4 grand and a little bit mean to your old friend the clutch and they can really jet... obviously not all that fast but it's the surprise element. In saying that I don't race people, I like my 12 points.

    I know a Brissie VR6 got 149.something hp/atw.

Talking about getting smoked off the lights , when we were down for SEDF this year I had 4 people in my car schoona at the wheel, burgs , rayray and myself cruising around Melbourne when we lined up a Suzuki Swift Gti and we got smoked hahaha I have a feeling it may have been worked cause the fully loaded VR stood no chance
