Hakan's VR6 TURBO Build (slow progress)

Skip the old GT garrett cast comp wheel turbos. Run a GTX series billet comp wheel as a minimum.

For about the same price, I would go with precision turbo's new CEA 6262 billet comp wheel, or Comp turbo's Triplex BB 6262 billet turbo. They're pretty much the equivalent to Garrett's GT35 (61mm GT35 comp wheel vs 62mm PTE's 6262 comp wheel).

Edit: I'd run single turbo purely for economic reasons, not mentioning weight, packaging problems

Single gt35 will be best. With a .82ar seems to be the consensus.

what size injectors ?
how much to oversize exhaust valves?
difference between 3 angle and 5 angle valve jobs and the benefits ?
What size cams for turbo ?
porting and polishing head ?
fuel pump?
Lugtronic stanalone but who would be able to tune it ?
to oversize pistons or not also if i just get it honed would i still need to get larger rings than std?
what main bearings to use ?
what conrods to use i.e H beam or I beam
i need lots of measuring tools !
as for Turbo i decided to go with a single Precision Cea 6262 twinscroll

UUUGGHH your making me want to keep my VR6

I'd personally go 2mm oversize intake and exhaust valves, a port and polish, cams from whatever company sells turbo specific cams for a vr6. as far as i know all the bearings a stuff are of roughly the same quality (correct me if im wrong!). Dont know anything about standalone sorry!
i did a fair bit of work to my vr6 a couple years ago and got all my parts from www.fourseasonstuning.com just select your car and engine like you would on any of those sort of sites and youll see they have HEAPS of stuff for a vr6. the guy who i dealt with has or atleast at the time had a supercharged vr6 and was really very helpful, cant remember his name!
I went for the oversize pistons, only the cast ones from a european version 2.9l vr6, so only 1mm bigger. i went those ones becausei couldnt justify another 400-500 bucks for forged pistons. after doing alot of research i worked out these engines can take roughly 450-500hp, so if i was ever going to turbo charge mine, which WAS the plan to do a year or so after, i just didnt think it NEEDED pistons that could take more than 500hp, thats just not useable power to me!
again from what ive read, so dont take this for gospel, if you are going to turbo a vr6 and want to know the 1 thing to change, its the conrod bolts. i hear ARP ones are great, so i got them.

like i said i havent actually turbo'd a vr6, but that was my plan and i did the full engine rebuild in preperation for that.

Hate to say this but I'd rather go with Haltech or Vipec than going with lugtronics(which is actually a rebadged VEMS).

I read through AZ and vortex that tech support/communication with lugtronics ie Kevin Black is pretty bad. So imagine yourself waiting for a week or two..maybe a month just for a tech help from him.

Pretty sure the recipe for the power you're after are all in vortex tech builds.

Thanks for your inputs guys I dont think ill ever lose motivation its just my dad keeps nagging me about it telling that it not worth building it , but he cant talk guy used to own a 9sec Kjet gti so im just following his foot steps haha

anyways i just ripped the pistons out of the block just before and the piston skirts , cylinder bores , conrods look absulutely fine but since im going forged pistons and rods my mum asked if I could make PISTON ASH TRAYS for her so why not , so ill get them chrome plated for the guests.
I spoke to my machinest (SALIBA ENGINE RECONDITIONERS ) today and they said they are pretty busy but i could take the head or block one at a time so im going to start with the head.I will be buying my parts from my usual places such as fourseasontuning and bahnbrenner, ecs tuning.
also i decided to get VFengineering engine and trans mounts.

also port and polish to gasket size and flow checked. after all of that the head should flow pretty good !

ive got bent exhaust valves so I was thinking of oversizing the exhaust valves
