Aye' sweet as. Didn't see location bar on the right, both other forums I usehave the dp, lacation etc on the right down the page with the post to the right.

Heading out to check out some car yards along parramatta road on staurday, depending on weather and whether I work on my major project.

Is that huge car yard out in minchinbury any good?

How did you go with your search?

I had been on the look out for months and months too..
Ended up getting a 97 model GL today with 207,000kms for $3900 . Everything works beautifully.. except the clutch is slipping. Has a fair few scratches and roof line is sagging too.. Other than that i thought it was reasonable.

Been looking for ages (way too long). All the dealership cars have been way to overepriced to even consider. Checked out two private cars today. Both had acouple of litte niggley things wrong with then, which I'm considering (cost of repair etc).

Keep at it! I felt the same... I even went off Golfs for a bit too and thought about the 306 and Mondeo.. but came back to the Golf in the end. Its gonna take a while to find a good one

I couldn't find a good VR6, so I spent a little less and got a mk2 GTI, then had heaps left over to spend on it straight away.

Really happy with it so far, so you should consider a mk2 in case one comes up for sale nearby.

Will consider if a really nice mrk II comes my way, but there's actually not many around.

Sure have. Test droven ages ago. Its ****. Good body, mechainically retarded though. Asking too much as well.
