    Golf alternator problem

    Hi I have a golf cabriolet 2001 2.oL AGG engine 160,000km's, the car wouldn't start flat batttery. Jumped started the car got it home just. Bought a new battery, but is discharged, the alternator/battery light was glowing dim on the intruments cluster. When I turn the key to on (before start) the battery symbol does not light, after the car starts the battery light is glowing very dim. Could this be the regulator? Thanks

    Hey old thread but it turned out to be the brushes were worn and sticking. Replace the reg unit with brushes and all good
