Mine is a late '93 build. I find too that at just over 3,000 revs when oil temp is below 50 degrees, even with light throttle, the engine cuts back and the car stutters along. If I restart the car it resets and clears the problem, but I can hardly do that moving in traffic.
If it is supposed to be a feature of the car to stop it being thrashed when cold, it is silly as it can be quite dangerous in an emergency situation.
So, just wondering if there is a fuse or some other quirky VW fitment that I can remove to stop it doing this.
