    Glovebox problem

my car was broken into about a week ago.. as my lock mechanism is buggered. the little metal piece with the hook that turns from the key insert to the central locking.

anyway, my glove box lock was broken when they raided the car. (they didnt take anything but oh well) and anyway, was attempting to fix it myself, but the only way to get the broken piece of plastic out was to break off the full handle.. so now i need i new one.. or just a whole glove box, whichever is easier...

if anyone knows of any wreckers that have mk3's in stock would be appreciated

Try Golf Loon, he probably has one. Is it the lower glovebox or upper one? If it's the lower one they aren't the easiest thing to find and aren't cheap either $100+ for decent 2nd hand one.

I thought it would be more like $50-70, that's what I remember seeing on this forum a few times!

The handle itself is $60ish from VW, the part number is on it.

A whole lower glovebox would go between $100 and $150 as they only came on late model Golf 3s. I dont have any at the moment.
