smooth and colour coded is the way to go!
Hey Guys,
Thinking of going the smooth bumper option, sick of dealing with textured plastic!! Does anyone know if the later model smooth bumpers are the same for GL,CL and VR6? If I use GL bumpers etc is my euro lip going to fit on?
Also thinking about the door trims strips, will they fit?
Thanks guys
Simon

Yep they're the same. Some bumpers, from where the indicator cluster is to the plate recess, might have a different swage line to the rest of the bumper. I don't have pictures to demonstrate but if the bumper line is the same throughout the bumper, then it's alright.
Thanks guys, have to see if I can find some now

If you're still set on colour-coding, then go nuts But for the meantime....let me tell you dude, Kiwi shoe polish is the best and most long-lasting product that you could possibly imagine putting on your bumpers. It's about $4 for a bottle from woolies, and it took me 3 applications on ALL of my early VR bumpers to almost finish the bottle.
But the best thing is....it's like paint...it DOESN'T go away. Seriously.

I sanded and painted the front rear and side trim mine, and mines a non-textured bumper car! You need alot of patience just to do those, let alone all the trim...
Wouldn't your side trims also be textured as well then?

Yeah that's the stuff dude. I just did mine yesterday, having not done it for....let me think....4-5 weeks? Apart from the polish that sprayed onto the black when I polished the bonnet, I couldn't see a difference when I did half of the front bumper.
LOL! I should be, aye! Nah, I just swear by it. You know why
